NOTICE OF RACE
OPEN FINNISH CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR 29er (ALSO EUROCUP), EUROPE CLASS YOUTH AND ZOOM8

RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. No national prescriptions will apply.
ADVERTISING
In accordance with ISAF Regulation 20 (Advertising Code) boats may be required to display the advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.
ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
The regatta is open to all boats of the 29er, who are current members of the Int. 29er Class Assn, Europe youth and Zoom8 classes.
Eligible boats may enter by completing the form below and paying the required entry fee by September 14th. Late entry will be accepted until 23th Semtember with 50% increased entry fee.

SCHEDULE
Thursday 24th of September
1700 – 2000 registration
Friday 25th of September
0900 – 1100 registration
1255 First warning signal, three races,
Saturday 26th of September
0955 First warning signal, 3 – 4 races,
Sunday 27th of September
0955 First warning signal, 3 – 4 races, no warning signal after 1500
Prize giving, as soon as the results are available.
MEASUREMENTS
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available during confirmation of registration and they will be published at EMK website on September 24th at 1700.
VENUE
Attachment ”karttakuvat”. shows the location of the regatta harbour and the racing areas.
THE COURSES
7.1. Courses will be as follows: windward/leeward or others.
PENALTY SYSTEM
SCORING
4 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
(a) When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When from 5 to 8 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
(c) When 9 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores.
SUPPORT BOATS
All support boats shall have clear markings for identification. Couch and support boats shall be registered to the Race Office and they have to participate in Race Security Service if needed.
BERTHING
RADIO COMMUNICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
PRIZES
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 250 000 € per incident or the equivalent.
